The stylish design is classic 1950s, completely harmonious and without any sharp corners. The covers descend vertically down to the front of the comb and enclose it completely, right up to the rounded ends, making the instrument exceptionally comfortable to hold as well as giving it a unique sound. The Golden Melody is the only HOHNER Richter model tuned to equal temperament, making it ideal for single note playing in all keys and ensuring its lasting popularity among jazz and melody players including world renowned overblow specialists Howard Levy and Carlos del Junco. Also available in C-major only in a special edition with gold anodized covers.

All in Golden Melody harmonica seems to have been designed for me custom-built, all is perfect, the sound is warm and generous, an alloy of precision and power, never aggressive...The flexible reeds, the metal cover closed on the plastic box spring, and the perfect size & spacing of holes on box spring give me a perfect freedom of play. The only thing I miss would be an edition of Golden Melody in low tones, to find these same qualities, particularly in Low F, low low F, low C and low D....

The shape of the full length covers and the curved ends fit in your hands a lot better, it has a nice warm mellow tone, especially on the higher keys. I like the way the cover plates darken the tone, it just has a glassy type of tone, and the stock comb has a nice sound to it.
